Learn and practice 'Labor Coping Skills'.

Sometimes people assume that achieving a natural (unmedicated) birth in the community setting depends on your “pain tolerance”. It’s actually not about having a high tolerance for pain. In truth, natural birth is 100% about how well you cope with discomfort, and how well supported you are both emotionally and physically.

This open-house style class hosted by a labor doula and midwifery apprentice is an essential step in preparing for your birth. This workshop begins with a quick refresher on what to expect at each part of labor, and what you can do to manage the challenges.

You’ll move through self-guided labor stations where the doulas will practice breathing patterns, relaxation strategies, positions for progress, massage techniques, and sensory integration to maximize natural pain management strategies.
