Jennifer Johnson

Student Midwife

Hi, my name is Jennifer Johnson, and I’m honored to be beginning my midwifery training at Frisco Midwifery & Birth Center. I believe midwifery is part of the solution to a healthcare system that still has significant room to grow—especially in maternity care — and I’m deeply committed to improving outcomes for birthing families. A central part of my calling is addressing healthcare disparities and the increased risks Black women face during their childbearing years. I believe every woman deserves access to a midwife who understands her lived experience and, when possible, reflects it.

I strive to bring a calm, grounded presence to each birth and postpartum experience, creating space for families to feel supported, informed, and respected.

Before moving to Frisco, I worked as a postpartum doula in Little Rock, Arkansas, and I hope to continue supporting families during their early parenting journey alongside my midwifery studies. I also offer placenta encapsulation services for families who are interested.

I bring over 16 years of patient care experience, including work in the NICU, mother–baby unit, and labor and delivery. I am currently attending Southwest Technical College to earn my midwifery degree.

I am a mother of four and have felt called to birth work since childhood—a calling that continues to guide my approach to compassionate, family-centered care.
